Middle School Summer Camp Teacher

A strong relationship between the teachers, staff, and volunteers is vital.
This is a paid position with an average of 9- 23 hours a week.
Duties/Responsibilities.
Lead children, by example, adhering to the guidelines of the camp.
Provide instruction-based curriculum and program with imagination and sense of humor.
Communicate with the Director of Programming, parents, and camp staff regarding camper progress.
Maintain a warm and positive environment in the classroom, while establishing and managing classroom rules and regulations.
Cares for and protects the safety of the campers and is versed in emergency and disaster procedures.
Uses a variety of teaching methods present subject matters to class
Lead traditional camp activities in various skill levels
Assure that materials and equipment and equipment are available to support planned activities.
Skills/Competencies:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to speak effectively before groups of children and adults.
Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Qualifications:
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Teachers must also have:
Ability to teach campers of various age groups
Ability to accept guidance and supervision
Ability to relate
At least 19 years of age
Current CPR and Standard First Aid preferred
Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, and enforce appropriate behavior management techniques
Ability to appropriately identify and respond to any emergency situations.
