This position will be a 6-10 hour a week, remote, paid volunteer position, with the bookkeeper receiving a stipend payment in June 2024.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Use Quickbooks software to record and track financial information

  • Manage vendor payments

  • Prepare invoices for summer camp registration

  • Manage payment of staff and partners 

  • Assist in billing and tracking of income from various sources

  • Assist in budget preparation by provide accurate information used for financial forecasting

  • Provide financial information needed for the application and tracking of grant income

  • Communicate with the accountant regarding financial questions and the preparation of the 990 tax return

  • Other tasks as needed to support school administration

Skills/Competencies

  • General knowledge of standard office and general bookkeeping practices, procedures, equipment and secretarial techniques

  • Knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic

  • Experience with financial record keeping

  • Ability to meet the public effectively

  • Skilled in the use of data and word processing equipment

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions

Ideal Candidate Attributes/Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree is preferred or high school diploma with an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
